OUR STORY

What Motivates Us

The Mission behind Karma Kennels is to pursue consistent excellence within our breed per the American Kennel Club's and The German Shepherd Dog Club of America's Breed Standard.

"The first impression of a good German Shepherd Dog is that of a strong, agile, well muscled animal, alert and full of life. It is well balanced, with harmonious development of the forequarter and hindquarter. The dog is longer than tall, deep-bodied, and presents an outline of smooth curves rather than angles. It looks substantial and not spindly, giving the impression, both at rest and in motion, of muscular fitness and nimbleness without any look of clumsiness or soft living. The ideal dog is stamped with a look of quality and nobility - difficult to define, but unmistakable when present. Secondary sex characteristics are strongly marked, and every animal gives a definite impression of masculinity or femininity, according to its sex." - Quote from the Breed Standard.

Genetic Health Testing and Temperament Testing are also a key figure in what drives us.
Our dogs are all genetically health tested through Embark and The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals are are tested to the fullest extent of our parent club.

Hello!

My name is Courtney Moshier and I am the founder of Karma Kennels! As a Professional Dog Trainer, I have always been interested in Puppy Development and how that affects long term behavioral aspects in dogs as they go through their developmental periods. I purchased my first German Shepherd Dog, Ace, in 2016 and I've never looked back! I love everything out this breed and how versatile they are! My mission as a breeder is to produce mentally and physically sound dogs that can be as versatile as their original intention - all being bred as close to the breed standard as possible of course. If you are looking for a breeder who breeds with intention and will provide life long support, you've come to the right place.
